Use the "MIDI Configuration" check boxes to enable or disable a port for MIDI. If necessary, newly added ports will be scanned for interfaces automatically. To disable a port temporarily, use the Interface Settings dialog.
Use the Generate Active Sensing option only if you own a device which requires active sensing to work properly. This option uses up a small fraction of the computer's processing power when it is on.
When the Monitor patch changes option is on, FreeMIDI will continually update the current patch on each device. By turning this option off, you may improve the overall performance of your computer.
When in "Allow other applications" mode, FreeMIDI applications do not play in the background and FreeMIDI allows other programs to access the Macintosh serial ports.
When choosing "FreeMIDI applications only" mode, FreeMIDI assumes that it always has control over the serial ports selected for MIDI. Use this option if all of your MIDI software supports FreeMIDI.
